The Progressive Insurance Murders
Chelsea Shobert met Shawn Ford, Jr. in late 2012 and the two became inseparable. Chelsea was a senior in high school and was smitten after meeting Shawn. However, things took a violent turn when, after celebrating Chelsea’s 18th birthday in 2013, Shawn attacked Chelsea with a brick and also stabbed her. Chelsea wound up in the hospital after the assault.
On Labor day morning in 1984, 29-year-old Kimele Speich and her husband woke up and had some labor day sex. Afterward, they decided to spend the first part of the day catching up on work at their separate offices located in Sacramento, California. Jeff was an attorney, having graduated from Berkely. Kimele worked at Progressive Casualty Insurance Company as an agent. Jeff and Kimele planned on meeting back up around 2:00 pm to visit Jeff’s parents for the holiday. Jeff returned home around 12:30 p.m. and waited for Kimele. At 2:15 p.m. she called him saying she was still at the office running late. She expected to be home in about two hours. This was the last time Kimele was heard from alive.
Catherine Keltner Heads to Progressive Insurance
Catherine Keltner, 23, was an intelligent, single woman who lived in Elk Grove California with her parents. The night before labor day she stayed at the home of her sister-in-law we will call Peggy. The next day, Peggy and Catherine decided to go to work and then meet later for dinner. Peggy left for work first at 1:45 p.m. and then Catherine Left to go to her office at Progressive Casualty insurance. At around At 4 p.m., Catherine called Peggy and said she was still at her progressive office but would be leaving soon. This was the last time Catherine was heard from alive.
Timothy Pride was very anger that Labor Day weekend in 1984. He had a bad temper and a history of violence. That day, one of the ladies that went to work at Progressive Insurance was on his hit list.
